El vicepresidente de la Comisión de Asuntos Exteriores del Parlamento Europeo, Javier Couso, aseguró hoy, durante una visita que realizó a la empresa socialista Venezolana del Vidrio (VenVidrio), que dicha compañía es ejemplo de que cuando el Estado nacionaliza algo, «funciona de verdad».
«He visto una fábrica funcionando a máxima capacidad, con calidad de trabajadores a todos los niveles (…) VenVidrio es un ejemplo claro que cuando el Estado nacionaliza una empresa, funciona de verdad», se asegura en un comunicado del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de Venezuela que recoge las palabras de Couso.
Couso que se encuentra en Venezuela recorrió las instalaciones de la empresa junto al el general de brigada y presidente de VenVidrio, Ghimi Santini, y la calificó como una «verdadera soberanía industrial».
De acuerdo con el comunicado, Couso dijo que con su visita al país caribeño «pretende abrir puentes para que la Unión Europea sea un acuerdo de paz y no de partes».
Se espera que para mañana Couso ofrezca una conferencia de prensa en Caracas.
Javier Couso se ha mostrado abierto en defensa del Gobierno de Nicolás Maduro, pues en distintas oportunidades ha defendido su gestión en el Parlamento europeo.
El eurodiputado ha opinado en las sesiones del Parlamento europeo en las que se debate sobre la crisis venezolana, que la Unión Europea prefiere estar del lado de «agendas oscuras que pretenden desestabilizar» al país caribeño que «defender la institucionalidad democrática amenazada».
Del mismo modo, ha pedido también a la Cámara que deje de intervenir en los asuntos internos de Venezuela, de acuerdo a información de EFE.
