El cantante Ricardo Montaner recibió la nacionalidad dominicana mediante el decreto 420-19 otorgado por el presidente de ese país caribeño, Danilo Medina.

“Se concede la nacionalidad dominicana, a título de naturalización privilegiada, al señor Héctor Eduardo Reglero Montaner (Ricardo), de nacionalidad argentina”, dice el artículo 1 del mencionado decreto.

En Listín Diario se recuerda que en el 2014 el artista dijo en una entrevista con la periodista Dafne Guzmán que el expresidente Leonel Fernández le hizo el ofrecimiento hacía unos años y le alegraba que Medina recibiera el mensaje.

En el 2016 el cantautor se mudó a República Dominicana y planea construir una escuela para los infantes de la comunidad, que se espera esté lista a partir de agosto del 2020.

Al igual que Montaner, otros artistas han recibido la nacionalidad dominicana. En marzo de 2008 el cantautor puertorriqueño Danny Rivera, quien reside en el país, se juramentó como dominicano, luego de recibir “la naturalización privilegiada” a través de un decreto del entonces presidente Leonel Fernández, agrega el referido sitio web.

En cambio, el cantaor flamenco Diego “El Cigala” recibió la residencia permanente el 6 de marzo del 2014. El famoso artista español piensa radicarse en La Romana, en la región este del país, donde también vive hace décadas el cantante Julio Iglesias.

El popular salsero puertorriqueño Gilberto Santa Rosa recibió el 14 de junio del 2013 la naturalización privilegiada del presidente Danilo Medina.

Julio Iglesias tiene cédula de identidad dominicana con la categoría de extranjero residente desde noviembre del 2013, añade Listín Diario.
