La edición 69° del Miss Universo se realizará este domingo 16 de mayo en el Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino ubicado en Florida (Estados Unidos) y en Venezuela podrá verse a las 8:00 de la noche. Esta posible sucesora podría ser Mariangel Villasmil, quien tiene 25 años y es estudiante de Psicología. También es escritora, emprendedora y dueña de su propia pastelería en Maracaibo (Venezuela), a la que dio el nombre de ‘Sláinte Cakes’.
Mariangel en el año 2018, con 22 años, participó ‘El concurso By Osmel Sousa’, el reality show de Venezuela presentado por el «Zar de la belleza». Pero a pesar de esta tardía fecha, Mariángel siempre soñó con dedicarse al mundo de la moda.
En una entrevista para la edición estadounidense de ‘¡Hola!’, la joven venezolana ha explicado cómo fueron sus inicios, desde bien pequeña: “Yo desde muy chiquita soñaba con estar en el concurso de belleza. Como venezolanas siento que forma parte de nuestro ADN, nuestra cultura… Es algo que es de nuestra herencia como mujeres venezolanas”, señaló para ‘¡Hola!’ USA.
“Mi primer concurso fue a los seis años, logré ganar ese concurso, pero fue hasta los 18 que empecé a participar en este concurso regional, pero por cosas de la vida no se dio, y fue hasta el año pasado que pude ingresar al Miss Venezuela, en el concurso nacional”, añadió.
Para llegar a donde está hoy, Mariángel Villasmil compitió junto a otras 21 candidatas tras ser seleccionada para representar a su estado natal (Zulia) en el Miss Venezuela 2020. El 24 de septiembre del pasado año logró coronarse como Miss Venezuela convirtiéndose en la tercera mujer en la historia que ganaba el certamen representando al estado de Zulia.
Sobre su look para esta noche, dijo: «estoy apostado por un look que vaya en congruencia con el mensaje que yo he venido transmitiendo desde que me inicié como Miss Venezuela, ese mensaje de aceptación, de amor propio, de naturalidad, de aceptarte tal y como eres. Te confieso que hace poco tuve la primera prueba del vestido y lloré horrible antes de la prueba, porque es como ese momento que estás esperando porque llega el vestido que te vas a colocar para una noche que nunca vas a olvidar en tu vida. Me pone muy nostálgica, pero estoy muy contenta. El equipo de diseñadores venezolanos ha sido increíble, me han dado todo su cariño y apoyo a pesar de todas las situaciones retadoras, entonces para ellos va todo mi agradecimiento».
