En audiencia, fueron imputados en Apure los funcionarios de la DGCIM, Yarumi Figueroa y José Flores Pérez, por ser responsables del asesinato de Juan Pantoja, funcionario del Cicpc.
El Fiscal general, Tarek William Saab, detalló en Twitter que los delitos por los que fueron imputados por la Fiscalía sonhomicidio calificado por motivos fútiles e innobles, tortura y quebrantamiento del deber de custodia a detenidos.
La muerte de Pantoja se produjo por asfixia mecánica por sumersión, presentó además hematoma en el tronco, fractura del tercer arco costal izquierdo y tres bandas equimóticas en la cara posterior del tórax, reveló la autopsia.
El pasado 4 de julio, el detective fue detenido por efectivos de la DGCIM, cumpliendo una orden de aprehensión del Tribunal Primero de Control del Circuito Judicial Penal de Apure. Lo señalaron de la fuga de un ciudadano dueño de un hato de nombre El Chaparralito, identificado como Reyes Gabriel Hernández González.
Tres días después, desde la DGCIM notificaron la muerte de Pantoja.
Se pudo conocer que el funcionario detectivesco fue sumergido en un tanque de agua de 200 litros que al parecer se encontraba en la sede de inteligencia militar.
