South African players, not unlike players from the rest of the world, seem to love slot machines. Slot games are some of the easiest to learn and play. Basically, all you have to do is decide how much you want to bet and then hit the spin button. If Lady Luck is on your side and the symbols line up, you will win good money. Not only do slot machines have a gradual learning curve, but they also offer a pretty decent return to player percentage, generally above 95%. Therefore, it is no wonder that slot games are the most popular genre of casino games in both online casinos and land-based casinos. The only forms of legal internet gambling in SA are horse and sports betting.Poker and casino websites are illegal in SA. Operators face punishments of up to R10 million and ten years’ imprisonment.South African players, meanwhile, risk having their online-casino winnings confiscated. The Department of Trade and Industry took R1.25 million in winnings from gamblers in 2017.The government rarely enforces its strict measures against illegal online gambling. However, if you’re worried about winnings being confiscated at South African casino sites, you should stick with legal land-based casinos.
