Daniil Gagarin se lanzó al mar para intentar rescatar de las olas a su amiga Emma Mönkkönen en la Cala de La Zorra en Torrevieja España.
Ambos, profesores de fitness, murieron engullidos por las olas ante los gritos de terror de la mujer de Daniil, que estaba grabando en vídeo el intento de rescate.
El terrible suceso ocurrió en una zona que los bañistas suelen utilizar para saltar al mar desde las rocas.
Dispositivo de búsqueda para buscar los cuerpos de Emma Mönkkönen y Daniil Gagarin
Tras un amplio dispositivo de búsqueda, en el que participaron la Guardia Civil y Salvamento Marítimo,se localizó el cuerpo sin vida de la sueca Emma Mönkkönen en Punta Margalla, a tres kilómetros del lugar del accidente.
El cuerpo sin vida del ruso Daniil Gagarin fue localizado en en Cala la Higuera.
