Como castigo, por presuntamente sustraer unos artículos de primera necesidad de un comercio, un menor de 12 años de edad fue golpeado y amarrado a un árbol en el patio de su vivienda en El Soberano de Maturín.
Por el presunto trato cruel e inhumano, el padre y madrastra del jovencito, identificados como José Ramón Hicher Pérez, de 29 años, y María Karina Torres Maita de 22, fueron detenidos por Polimaturín al recibir la denuncia por parte de los vecinos.
Los oficiales interrogaron a la madrastra del adolescente quien relató que había castigado al joven, por su conducta irregular en el abasto.
Cuando llegó el turno de abordar al afectado, este manifestó que no le habían pegado; pero al visualizar sus brazos se pudo observar hematomas en su cuerpo.
Los vecinos que se acercaron al inmueble, indicaron a los oficiales que el niño era constantemente maltratado por sus padres. Además que pasaba varios días maniatado a un árbol del patio de la casa sin recibir alimentación.
La pareja está a la orden de la fiscal 9° del Ministerio Público, según indica El Periódico de Monagas.
